   Chris Corner aka. IAMX just unveiled a video for the song I Come With Knives. After The Unified Field and Quiet The Mind, I Come With Knives is the third output of IAMX‘s upcoming album The Unified Field (out March 22).

  I have waited for this song and video as IAMX announced their new album. THIS is Chris and his magical art, full of intense emotions, seductive noise and exploding energy!  Thanks to IAMX!!

IAMX - The Unified Field

  On February 1, 2012, it was announced via IAMX's Facebook and Twitter pages that work has officially begun on the fifth studio album, which had the working title of IAMX5. 

  On May 13, Chris announced that there will be a vlog posted on the official IAMX YouTube channel every two weeks, which would allow the fans to view the recording process of the new album. 

  On July 6, 2012 via his online blog, Chris revealed the name of a track from the forthcoming album. The song is titled "Come Home" and will most likely become a single. 

  On October 1, a new fundraising project was launched via the PledgeMusic website, which will allow fans to bid on items such as tour setlists and CDs, including the new album. 

  On October 19, it was announced that the album will officially be named  "The Unified Field"  and will be preceeded by the first single, a double A side, to be released in December.

  Sincerely I do hope that this single is just an intro to his masterpiece which we all expect impatiently.

  This song is not alike Chris we use to hear an album ago, but as his fan, I do believe that it will develope a truly symphony with the further songs and whole album :)

  "Schizophrenic modesty incarnate” is the description IAMX’s Chris Corner gives to THE UNIFIED FIELD, the follow-up to the universally lauded album Volatile Times. For those who are familiar with the music of IAMX, this description fits like a velvet-lined black glove. “I want it to move you, to f*** you and to dictate the psychology of your offspring.” In advance of the release of their fifth album in early 2013, the double A-Sided single for the title track “The Unified Field” will be released, worldwide on December 3, 2012 via 61seconds.

   At the same time primal, sensual, dangerous while also philosophical, intelligent and profound,  Corner embodies a realm that connects head, heart and heavens while still being very conscious of innate rhythms and melody. The song, “The Unified Field” is a perfect example of that. “The song is based on a scientific theory rooted in quantum physics, that intends to bring together all other scientific theories and to bridge the gaps between consciousness, spirituality and science… a theory of everything so to speak,” he explains without condescension or aloofness. 

  

“I find this idea extremely powerful and exciting. It has been floating around for millennia from Taoism to Einstein but there is more science emerging recently to back it up.

  

” While the background of the song is heady and steeped in concepts that would make Mensa blush, the song itself is an epic and expansively atmospheric track awash in echoes and space propelled by a midnight electro beat that’s equally built for a misty forest as it is for a danceclub. “This stuff keeps me awake at night with a racing heart and fired up imagination,” he continues about the song. “Some branches of quantum theory dig into the idea that consciousness pervades and creates all matter, that at the core it is what connects everything and everyone. I know all humans have this underlying nagging feeling that we are just wrapped up in a web of stuff, that particles inside us are just rearranged stardust billions of years old.”

Also included alongside remixes by Swiss electro artists We Love Machines who serve up a swirling, twitchy deep house track, and Faux Tales who rebuilds the song into a propulsive club remix, is the lilting ballad “Quiet The Mind” that highlights Chris’ trademark vocals. “I would say the production on this track 'Quiet The Mind' shows the acoustic extreme of the album,” Chris explains. “As with all IAMX records, there is a dominant electronic sound but this time more subtly intertwined with human performance. And of course the raw emotion is still a huge part of the album. It is just who I am and what I do, I can't get by without letting that stuff out.” Each of the two tracks will have accompanying videos on the single as well.

Trust - Trst

  Trust is Robert Alfons and Maya Postepski (Austra). Formed in 2009, the Toronto-based duo released its first singles, "Candy Walls" and "Bulbform" in 2011 before signing with Arts & Crafts for the 2012 release of their forthcoming debut full length, TRST.

  In the last year they've performed with DFA1979, Crystal Castles, Balam Acab, Glass Candy, and Hercules and Love Affair.

  Tales of lust, wax, and erotomania that carry along on a dense black vapor of speed, space and tears.

Austra - Spellwork

  Austra are an electronic band from Toronto, ON, Canada comprising Katie Stelmanis (principal songwriter), Maya Postepski, and Dorian Wolf. They débuted with the single “The Beat And The Pulse” (November 2010, One Big Silence), and their latest release is the remix album “Sparkle” (July 2011, Domino) .

  Their début album album, “Feel It Break” (May 2011, Domino), came after a long sequence of bands for Stelmanis, representing a near ten year musical progression performing as an artist, then fleshed-out by a full band. More settled and dominant than ever, the band’s sound represents Stelmanis’ influences tightened into a shiny metal ball — pianos give way to keyboards as songs build and pull, their urgent, dark melodies arpeggiating through multiple synthesizers, wrapping themselves around Stelmanis’ voice.

  New Austra video for 'Spellwork' from their debut album Feel It Break, out now on Domino. Directed by Yelena Yemchuk.

  In the woods of this electro-goth band, people ride around menacingly on black steeds, witches decked out in black robes plot sinister acts, and a guy in a knock-off Guy Fawkes mask stalks the land. 

  The video is full of penetrating synths and harmonic melodies that will leave you wanting more.

Adventure - Lesser Known (2011)

   Adventure is yet another contemporary act infatuated with the epic sound of 80s electronica. The Baltimore based musician behind Lesser Known, Benny Boeldt, uses a palette of sounds and beats to recreate and expand upon the indulgent atmospherics that groups like OMD and Visage came up with the first time round.

   The opening track, 'Song 1', sounds like an instrumental remix of New Order's 'Bizarre Love Triangle', and this is soon followed by 'Smoke and Mirrors' and "Fools Paradise".  Boeldt creates a lush sound that is melodramatic, urban, melancholic and rapturous; In short, Boeldt is a musician, a technician and a post-modern romantic.

   At its best, Lesser Known crescendos to create a big sound using melodic hooks, electronic strings, samples and simple vocals.

   For some people this kind of music will sound derivative and nostalgic, but it's not really as simple as that. Although the template may be very similar to 80s electronica, the schematic has changed and Lesser Known does sound like the next generation of synth-pop.

The Frozen Autumn - Chirality (2011) & Discography

  

  The Frozen Autumn is an Italian darkwave band, formed in May 1993, characterized by a blend of melancholic vocals, atmospheric gothic-wave and 1980s-style electropop.

  The Frozen Autumn started life as the solo project of Diego Merletto, founded after several years of involvement with various darkwave groups in Turin. The singer, keyboardist and synth programmer employed the talents of guitarist Claudio Brosio during early studio sessions and live performances, then in 1995 the first album, Pale Awakening, was released under the German Weisser Herbst Produktion label. The album was well-received by gothic-wave/dark-romantic fans across Europe, and in 1997 the follow-up was released, Fragments of Memories, this time by Milan-based Eibon records.

   In 1998 Merletto co-founded a side-project called Static Movement with Arianna, who provided guest vocals on the title-track from Fragments of Memories. The duo composed together for six months and in March 1999 the album Visionary Landscapes was released. The musical style of Static Movement was not dissimilar to The Frozen Autumn, however with only electronic instruments being used, the result was a more synthetic coldwave sound. The partnership proved fruitful for both parties and so Arianna became a permanent fixture in The Frozen Autumn line-up, Static Movement remaining their "concept research project".

 

  After 18 months working on The Frozen Autumn's third album, Emotional Screening Device was released in April 2002 and hailed as the group's best album to date. They decided to leave Eibon Records in 2003 and, while contemplating offers coming in from both Italian and foreign labels, spent over two years on the next album. Is Anybody There? was finally released in September 2005 by the Argentinean label Twilight Records and German label Pandaimonium through Xymox Control.

  Merletto has since been working on his video art which has in recent years become an integral part of the band's live shows, while in addition to playing concerts all over Europe and collaborating with various artists, the duo have (as of October 2006) begun the process of reprinting The Frozen Autumn's back catalogue. In 2009, "Pale Awakening", "Fragments of Memories" and "Visionary Landscapes" were re-printed through Twilight Records. At the same, The Frozen Autumn announced that Ashes is no longer their official fan club. In September 2009, a new official forum was created.
 

   In December 2009, The Frozen Autumn published in their Facebook a "Manifesto against music killers", stating their position on music sharing over the Internet. In the same article they pointed out that they were exploited by someone who they thought as a good friend.

   In October 2010, four new songs from a new single: "Rallentears" will be performed live. The song is on their new label, Calembour Records, as a forerunner of their next album, called Chirality is released in November 2011.

Clan Of Xymox - Darkest Hour (2011)

 BETTER THAN EVER!!!

   The band Clan of Xymox, also known as Xymox, formed in the Netherlands in 1981. They gained success in the 1980s, releasing their first two albums on a prestigious independent UK label, a third and fourth album on a major US label and scoring a hit single in the United States. Early pioneers of the dark and moody electronic music known as darkwave their 1980s releases included synthpop electronic dance music.

  In the 1990s, their music turned increasingly Goth (they have since been referred to as the "founding fathers of goth.") Though the band is still active and continues to tour and release records, of the original members (Ronny Moorings, Pieter Nooten, Frank Weyzig, and Anke [also Anka] Wolbert), only Moorings remains in the band today.

   How would the classic darkwave from the 80s sound today?

 

   Which path would the cult acts of the legendary 4AD label take with the possibilities of our modern world? As an answer to these questions, CLAN OF XYMOX deliver their foreboding thirteenth  studio album "Darkest Hour" - an enthralling journey through the past, present and future of gloomy goth/darkwave sounds.

  After enthusing the scene in the summer of 2009 with their quite goth rock-oriented "In Love We Trust", CLAN OF XYMOX return with an album that is surprisingly electronic. Without omitting the foggy guitars painting their characteristically melancholic aura into the songs, the framework of "Darkest Hour" consists of an elaborate composition of enigmatic electro sounds and mesmerizing darkwave nostalgia - a combination effortlessly melting together contemporary sounds with the aura that made the self-titled XYMOX debut an instant classic in 1985.

Automelodi - "Automelodi" [2010]

  Automelodi is the main musical project of Canadian songwriter/producer Xavier Paradis formerly known as Arnaud Lazlaud and later as Echo-Kitty, playing since the mid 90’s in the purest Neue Deutsche Welle and Fad Gadget styles.

They released their debut album “Automelodi” in August 2010.

   Automelodi combines guitars with synthesizers and drum machines to create a truly idiosyncratic, cerebrally sophisticated, and elegantly composed album of modern minimal electronic music!

   Highly unique for a North American band in 2010, Automelodi proudly embraces the infinitely rich ground of French pop musical influences - including the legendary ‘Chanteurs’ of the ‘60s and ‘70s, classic French cold wave(aka ‘La Vague Froide’) and minimal synth, and early UK new wave.

   The album carefully weaves together a series of hook-laden uptempo pop trax with with a set of stylishly confident, yet vulnerably melancholic downtempo songs that allow the listener to catch his misty breath in the mix, with nearly all vocals smoothly delivered in French. 

  As is often the case within French literature, poetry, and pop musical history the freely associative, intuitive and often dreamlike play of language and the voice is of prime importance to the band. And indeed for the English-speaking listener in particular, the vocals function as an additional flowing and soaring instrument in the mix as well as a mysteriously mediating force that provocatively obscure the lyrical narratives at work, while carefully playing off of both the icily detached guitars and the warmly, organic electronics. An amazing balancing act it is, and negotiating this plethora of conflicting forces within the record is quite an exciting sonic event to experience...welcome to the world of Automelodi...

Emmon - Nomme

  
   Emmon is the solo project of Emma Nylén. She is also one of the member of the Swedish pop-band Paris. The Emmon-project was started in 2001 as an experimental music vs. art project under her art studies at Konstfack University Collage of fine Art in Stockholm. Emmon..s computer based music lays on the border between pop, synth, electro and disco music. Its based on her vocal resources with a lot of attitude and melodic pop songs. She also working as a DJ and doing remixes for other bands and artists. For example: The Knife, Melody Club, Homy, Soviac, Postplay. 

   In the very beginning, her music was quite minimal and rather monotonous electronica, actually a bit electro-clash inspired. But over the years, her music has matured into an energetic and melodic style of electropop, often very danceable and catchy. The music is both cold and warm, hard and soft, all at the same time. It's urban, European, modern, authentic, stylish and elegantly sexy, just like Emma herself.

  In 7 February 2007, Emmon released her debut album The Art and the Evil on Wonderland Records. It was written, produced, mixed and engineered by Emma Nylén. The tracks “Rock D’Amour” and “Time Can Only Make Things Better” were co-written and co-produced by Jon Axelsson. Three singles supported the album: "Wake Up Time” (issued in 2006), “Rock D'Amour” and “Down Below”.

   The sophomore album, Closet Wanderings, was issued in 19 February 2009, on Wonderland Records. Like her debut album, it was written, produced, mixed and engineered by Emma Nylén. The songs “Torturous Pleasure” and “Lips on Fire” were co-written and co-produced by Jon Axelsson. Two singles supported the album: “Secrets & Lies” and “Lips on Fire”.

 In June 2011, Emmon issued the third album Nomme on Wonderland Records. The album was preceded by two singles: “Distance” and “Ghost Dance”.

    Lovers of Miss Kittin will surely be pleased with this record. I dare to state the melodies on this record are better, more refined and Emma has a wider vocal range. Satisfying bass sounds in “Baseepressen”, sparkling melodies in “Distance”, eighties flavours in “Ghost Dance”, all in all enough elements for dance floor purposes.

   On top this is a varying album with enough subtlety for various listening sessions. 

  “Nomme” may need some time to grow, but it is definately her best work to date. A very good Electropop journey is guaranteed.

IAMX - Bernadette

  IAMX released their long awaited 2nd single from their recent album  "Volatile Times"

 BERNADETTE is it called and tells a story about “a person of  great importance to me.”,  Chris says. “A child of  the infinite and a woman I will always adore. The timeless Bernadette. Curious., fragile, stubborn, beautiful, demonic.  And in need of  a little protection.”

  Bernadette’s music video directed by Berliner Fabian Roettger will also be published on the same day along with the German version by Chris. Releases will be available for download on IAMX’s official website

   It is absolutely inspiring, dark and intense with its whole artistic beauty.
   It's really hard to comment such a big & genius piece of  art especially when it's coming from very complexing artist Chris Corner.
  His emotions, loneliness is a kind of suffering, a heavy prison, burden and a crucifix.. He is giving all that in every word, song, live act.
  His destructive act destroys and crushing it all away, gives him a new skin, breath, regenerate him to live and sing through circle of its volatile times, wandering through dark journey, waiting for a tender soft touch of daylight and more again.

  So much love for this man!!!

Tesla Boy - Rebecca (Modern Thrills)

  Tesla Boy is a Russian Electro/Pop/New Wave band formed in 2008 in Moscow. The band members are Anton Sevidov (vocals and keyboards), Dima Dimborn (bass and background vocals), and Boris Lifshits (drums). 

  The band's name is taken from the title of a song written by Anton and Dima during the beginning of their collaboration about a boy who could conduct electricity but could not control it and hurt those who came too near him. The idea was inspired by the apartment in which Anton lived for most of his life which was above a huge electrical transformer that made him constantly feel the presence of electricity.

  The band started by recording a five-track demo entitled "The Tesla Boy", distributing it amongst friends and on the internet. It was later published under the title "The Tesla Boy EP." The promo CD features full artwork by DW Design studios. Bloggers took note of the demo, describing the band's music as "some of the most exciting electronic music of the year", "the best thing to come from Russia since vodka" and "the finest pop group in the world today".

  The band were quickly booked for sold-out concerts in many major Soviet cities and headlined three major Russian music festivals: Afisha, Stereoleto and MIGZ. In July 2010, they played the Elektrana stage at Serbia's EXIT Festival.

  Since August 2009, the band has been signed to the British label Mullet Records. The label released the aforementioned demo "The Tesla Boy EP" along with a "The Tesla Boy" remix EP, and the band's debut LP "Modern Thrills" in May 2010, which was followed by the three singles "Electric Lady, "Thinking Of You" and "Liberating Soul". The debut album is the band's first official physical release on CD, with the cover design contributed by the New York City-based design studio Mogollon.

  In 2010, Tesla Boy collaborated in a live-only project with Poko Cox  for many live performances, which included some of Poko's tracks. Their first live performance together was in Kiev, Russia, followed by shows in the country.

Their songs "Fire," "Electric Lady" and "It's Not Loving" have been in heavy rotation at Radio Maximum since 2009, as well as the track Spirit of the Night starting in 2010. "Electric Lady" and "Fire" entered Radio Maximum's 2009 Top 100. The music video for "Electric Lady" has been featured on Muz-TV Russina since 2010. "Electric Lady" was featured on the Nu Disco compilation released by Hed Kendi Records, and an extended mix of the song was featured on the A Blues from the Gutter compilation mixed by Blackstrobe.

 The band has remixed tracks by Anoraak, Manicure, Sally Shapiro and Alla Pugacheva.

All music and lyrics are written by the band members; all stylistic decisions, regarding the concept, the direction of music and production, are made by the band.

 It is a brilliant showcase of their mixing skills – nu-disco, deep and dreamwave-y.

Fans of ’80s synthpop/new wave sound, it’s time to get thrilled!
