Cold Cave - Cherish The Light Years (2011)

Cold Cave are an experimental electronic pop group from Philadelphia and New York City who make melodic synthscapes with jackhammer beats. They acknowledge the dark roots of synthesizer music as well as its potential for making the brightest pop with their hard songs celebrating the contradictory beauty of the human condition.

Cold Cave strive for balance, between the ugly and the beautiful, between rupture and rapture. The songs on Cold Cave's debut album Love Comes Close have an immediacy that belies thought-provoking titles like "The Laurels of Erotomania" and "The Trees Grew Emotions And Died". In this way they mark that transitional moment when synthesizer music went from a subversive device for sound collagists to a serious commercial force. They are cerebral and savage, yet sweet and seductive.

Cold Cave uniquely refine a style that many consider to be still lost in the surplus of ‘80s glamour. Their debut full-length, Love Comes Close, seems to configure the most enduring aspects of ‘80s electro-pop and integrate them into the world of contemporary production where noise, IDM, and ambience are all accepted music genres.

The new album  arrives April 5 in the U.S. and April 4 in the UK!

Here's the newest video from the band, Enjoy, Great song!

Metronomy - The English Riviera

England’s brightest electro-pop band Metronomy will release their forthcoming new album The English Riviera on 11th of April on Because Music.

Originally a solo project for producer Joseph Mount, Metronomy now operate as a four piece with Anna Prior on drums, Gbenga Adelekan on bass, original member Oscar Cash on keys/sax, and Joseph Mount on vocals, keys and guitar.).

The English Riviera – is a brilliantly gloomy slice of twisted electro-pop, all creepy and weird synth grumbles.
"We've been recording a new album which is pretty much done," bassist Gbenga Adelekan told Australia’s Triple J, while the band tour the country.. "Some of it is like Daft Punk meets The Eagles if you can believe that. Some of it is even weirder, more electronic. Some of it is almost like stuff from the first Metronomy album, very weird electronica. And then there's some really cool pop music on there as well."
"We've gotten a really good response to the new songs we've played," he added. "It's going to be a lot of fun to play live."
This is the first single called "She Wants" which is more mellow than we are used to, but listen to their album, you will not miss the great big slice of their eccentric talent to make perfectly wider view on what they can give more in electro bizarre world.
The song feels very 80s with the mid-tempo rhythm, the use of sequenced drums and synth and the guitar feeling slightly chorus-ed.

IamX - Volatile Times

IAMX is the illegitimate brainchild of Sneaker Pimps front man and whiz kid producer Chris Corner. His self-produced, performed and perfected debut album “Kiss + Swallow” is a moving collection of songs for unhinged and creative mind.

The content is sexual, synthetic, dark and melodic, like 80s’ electro glam soundtrack to Svankmajer film. Call it a cross between Detroit or Berlin escapades, Prince or Roxy Music’s pop, or the electronic universe of Cabaret Voltaire. IAMX erotic vocals accompanied with frantic guitar noise breaths life into the songs.

It is not often that a band infiltrates the essence of your being, where you live and breathe their music and their words. But for many, the Berlin based IAMX has created a die-hard cult who wait for their every move with bated breath. While most artists tend to see their art as a finite entity, IAMX's mastermind Chris Corner sees his music as ever evolving; morphing and shifting... open to interpretation and changes.

IAMX mixes Chris' erotically-charged vocals with music that is, at once, frantic yet controlled. A full-on aural and visual attack. In 2004 was the release of IAMX's debut album 'Kiss + Swallow' which has already been considered a classic, with songs such as the title track 'Skin Vision', 'Missile', and 'Sailor' among others, setting up a new sound many call 'Glam Noir'. The follow up, their internationally acclaimed second album 'The Alternative', voted the Number One Album of 2007 by XM Radio, was the sound of an independent revolution offering the perfect "alternative" to the insipid radio drone of the mainstream. With their third studio album 'Kingdom of Welcome Addiction', Chris Corner has created another masterpiece, in which the glam noir styling of IAMX got an organic and much more intimate makeover. The naked and raw emotions are embracingly welcomed on this album and coddled with care, from the vulnerable shuffle of 'Tear Garden' to the regal march of 'Kingdom of Welcome Addiction' to the late night primal dance floor rhythms of 'Nature of Inviting'. His exposure of his tender underbelly however couldn't be more apparent (and beautifully presented) than in the ethereal ballad 'I Am Terrified' that is filled to the brim with emotion, passion and pain. The slinky 'My Secret Friend', featuring a duet with Imogen Heap, further pushes the boundaries for IAMX's music, as this is the very first duet Chris has ever done. IAMX is currently planning the next chapter of their very storied history which includes a new album, 'Volatile Times', set to be released in March 2011.

IAMX announce their Fire and Whispers tour for 2011 to support the highly anticipated release of the fourth studio album Volatile Times.

Emotionally charged and sensually produced, 'Volatile Times' is an explosive psychological journey that explores themes of mental and sexual instability, religious perversion, socio-political ignorance, celebrity and the music industry.

'Volatile Times' is set to a backdrop of the unique electro-organic IAMX sound with glorious rhythms, melancholic melodies and operatic performances.

“I have been decoding the past and hitting walls for years but finally I feel this album is my personal breakthrough.” Chris Corner

As I'm a greatly and devoted admirer of Chris Corner, I barely waited another precious artmake from this extremely talented artist.
Ghosts of Utopia indicate that his unique alterego is willing to give more and more...
Luckily we can enjoy in this particle of undryable thirst of his mind.
Filled with seducive contrasts, thrilling controversy, this will make you love them again as always...

Propylaion - Mimicry

Propylaion is a indie pop band from Hamburg, Germany, formed in 1995.
It's very interesting name for a band "propylaion" which  is a greek word for a monumental gateway leading towards a sanctuary.

      Members/Instruments:
Nils Wommelsdorf – voice, gimmicks, noises
Michael Holland – guitar, backing vocals
     Patrice Serfort – drums, percussions
Georg Sheljasov – bass, backing vocals

They have released their new album Mimicry, which is very professional piece of music and also has a unique acoustic sound, which is not surprising 'cause they're music educated guys.

Listen to this great song - Who moved the ground? with a tender electro beat and a beautiful charming voice...

They have much to offer, so Enjoy!!
